1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files or similar technologies that websites and online services can store on a user's device. They can be used for purposes such as maintaining a secure login session, remembering preferences, measuring website use or supporting payment and security functions.
2. Cookies on the OrcaSure marketing website
The public OrcaSure marketing website does not currently use analytics, advertising or behavioural tracking cookies. We do not currently use tools such as advertising pixels or third-party analytics on the marketing site.
On that basis, the public website does not currently require a cookie-consent banner for non-essential cookies. If we introduce non-essential cookies in future, we will update this policy and implement an appropriate consent mechanism before those cookies are set.
3. Strictly necessary technologies in the OrcaSure application
The authenticated OrcaSure software application may use strictly necessary cookies or equivalent session technologies to provide the service requested by the user. These may be required to:
- sign users in and maintain a secure authenticated session;
- protect accounts and prevent unauthorised access;
- support security and anti-forgery controls;
- remember information that is essential to move through a requested workflow; and
- provide other functionality that cannot reasonably operate without the technology.
Where a cookie or similar technology is strictly necessary to provide a service requested by the user, consent is not normally required under the applicable UK cookie rules, although users should still be given clear information about its purpose.
4. Stripe payment pages
Stripe is used inside the OrcaSure application for subscription billing and payment processing. If a user is redirected to or interacts with a Stripe-hosted checkout, billing portal or payment page, Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies for payment processing, fraud prevention, security, authentication, regulatory compliance and related purposes.
Those technologies are controlled by Stripe on Stripe's services and are governed by Stripe's own cookie and privacy information. The public OrcaSure marketing website does not load Stripe payment functionality simply because a visitor views the website.
5. Local storage and similar technologies
The same legal principles that apply to cookies may also apply to similar technologies that store information on, or access information from, a user's device. If OrcaSure introduces such technologies for non-essential purposes, this policy and any consent controls will be updated accordingly.
6. Managing cookies
You can use your browser settings to view, block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies in the OrcaSure application may prevent login, security controls or other core functionality from working correctly.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if the website, OrcaSure application or third-party services change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated date.
8. Contact
If you have questions about cookies or similar technologies used by OrcaSure, please contact us through the OrcaSure contact page or the Orca360 contact page.
